Well, after visiting Mt. Rushmore, I headed souteast and wound up in Kansas City, Missouri, after passing briefly through Iowa and Nebraska. I stayed the night in a Wal-Mart parking lot, waiting for a tornado to blow me away. The weather was really bad, with huge winds, lots of rain, thunder, lightning, etc. I survived the night and continued on my way to St. Louis.
When I got there, the weather hadn't improved much. The sky was dark, but it was really warm and humid outside. Perfect conditions for a tornado. I came to St. Louis primarily to see the Arch, and when I arrived, this is what it looked like:
Note that it is not night-time; this was taken at around 5pm! It was quite a beautiful sight, however.
I stayed overnight in an RV park right downtown, about 5 minutes from the Arch. In the morning, I headed over to the Arch to take a ride up inside to the top. Here's a partial view of Busch Stadium from the top of the Arch:
It was a pretty cool ride up to the top. The views were really great all around.
After I got done with that, I wandered around the downtown area for a little while. Market Street was filled with really old, grandious buildings and lots of statues, too:
I didn't stay long, because I was anxious to get to Chicago. Finally, a parting shot of the downtown area:
